Closing the Rear Wing

On the Fastback, the bolted-on rear wing comes right up to the back of the door, so the frame is recessed to accept it. The Variant wings are shorter so there is a narrow gap to be filled. The picture on the right shows the gap between the implanted frame and the bodyside.
Here this has been closed using an off-cut from the front of the Fastback wing panel and welded up.
After some patient filling and rubbing down, it is ready for a coat of primer.
